In top level games, Italy is the hardest nation to play, a long way back from the second hardest — Austria Hungary. In this article I cover the standard opening moves and throw in my own experience having played diplomacy over many years.

In part 2, I cover the Lepanto opening. Great in theory, but I also cover what might happen in reality.

Ideally then you want a good (trusting) relationship with Austria.
