Don’t make yourself, feel better, by blaming the present occupant of the White House, for the polarizing tone, greater degree of prejudice and hatred, and the way, it seems, one segment of America, is pitted against another! In fact, the real question, to consider, and truly, be concerned about, is why, so many Americans, seem to blindly, follow President Donald Trump, and continue to do so, despite his behavior, rhetoric, and continuing lies! When will they TIRE of this type of behavior, and the continuous, lies (according to one, well – respected, political fact – checker, he has told, over 12,000 lies, and/ or, misstatements, since, he was elected? What are the potential dangers of these oversights, and, why, does it seem, not to matter, to so many of them? With that in mind, this article will attempt to, briefly, consider, examine, review, and discuss, using the mnemonic approach, what this means and represents, and why it matters.
1. Tense; treatment; time – tested; timely; trust/ truth: Don’t Americans need, and deserve, the truth from those, they elect, with the hope, to be effectively, served and represented? If you can’t trust these individuals, doesn’t that harm, the nature of our democracy? How healthy is it, when millions, wake – up, daily, tense, and nervous, about what, might occur, that day? Don’t we deserve better treatment? How are we represented, when time – tested, principles, ideas, and concepts, ignored? When issues, like, paying keen attention to Climate Change, and environmental concerns, and safety, are ignored, isn’t that unfair to future generations?
2. Integrity; innovate; imagine; insights; improvements: Don’t we deserve, and shouldn’t we demand, absolute, genuine integrity, from those we elect? Slogans, such as, Make America Great Again, looking backward, instead of forward, and wouldn’t we all, be better off, if they would innovate, in a relevant, sustainable manner, and imagine things, being, as they should, and may be? Take a keen look at the possibilities, and develop, the insights to be more responsible voters, and citizens! When improvements are indicated, wouldn’t it make sense, to seek the best path, instead of procrastinating, and denying?
3. Relevant; responsive; reality; rational; realistic: Who benefits, when a leader, replaces, realistic ideas and solutions, with empty rhetoric, and promises? Rather than being responsive to the needs of the nation and the world, it doesn’t help anyone, when lies, and misstatements, replace rational ideas, and viable solutions!
4. Empathy; emphasis; energy/ energize; enrich: We have witnessed, a period, unlike any, in recent memory, where, it appears, to many, the President of the United States seems to lack genuine empathy, and is primarily motivated by his personal/ political agenda, and/ or, self – interest! We need leadership, which places its emphasis, and energy, on energizing others, and enriching society, in – general!
What does it say about our society, when so many, seem to, not yet, TIRE of the apparent lies, and actions, of this administration? Wake up, America, before it’s too late!

Some people say, it's nothing to be concerned with, merely because there's so many lies, and / or, misstatements made, in today's political climate and environment! After all, we hear, politicians have always lied, and, in – fact, nearly every poll taken, clearly indicates, that profession is among, if not, the least trusted, in America. However, do you feel, as I do, the amount, style, and degree of this behavior, appears to be, far more, and full of significant vitriol, etc? Rather than unifying us, and seeking to serve the common good, we are witnessing an era, full of polarizing, self – serving, and uncompromising behavior. Is what we are witnessing, truth (but we don't want to accept it), half – truth, lies, or absolute, pants – on – fire?
1. Truth: Why should we expect the truth, when we haven't demanded it previously, and most voters, seem to proceed, with apathy, rather than focus, etc? Few of our public officials have even attempted, to earn our trust, and, in my memory, the only President, who seemed to care about maintaining his integrity, was Jimmy Carter, and he was not, at all, popular in the office!
2. Half – truths: Telling half – truths, is probably, our past, political norm ! Do you remember the famous motion picture line, You can't handle the truth ? Whether politicians feel that way, or merely compromise, because they seek popularity, and reelection, despite what Rudy Giuliani, seems to claim, there is only one truth! Unfortunately, despite generations of being misled, it seems, most voters, continue to vote, for politicians, who promise them, popular things, even when they have little, or no, viable solutions!
3. Lies: Most politicians lie! There, I wrote it! However, today, we are witnessing more of this lying, than I ever recall, because, President Donald Trump, is certainly, unlike those who preceded him, in the office! In the past, once a politician, and / or, public official, was caught in a lie, he would avoid repeating it, but, Mr. Trump, generally, repeats it, and often, doubles – down, despite being informed constantly, or it being false!
4. Pants – on – fire: What differentiates something being, a pants – on – fire, type of lie, from an ordinary one? Perhaps, it is, when it is repeated, and the official does all he can, to avoid any personal responsibility, and replaces that, with continuous, blaming and complaining. This President calls other liars, and anything he disagrees with (or disagrees with him), Fake Facts, although fact – checkers, state, since his election, Trump has made over 6 misstatements, per day.
Little kids used to sing, Liar, liar, pants – on – fire , and perhaps, that is the theme of today's political climate! Until / unless, the American voter, stops being apathetic and naive, and demands better, we will probably continue to witness it, for many years!

Whether one agrees or disagrees with, supports or opposes, or what one's personal opinion of the man, may be, there should be, nearly, universal agreement, President Donald Trump, is certainly, unlike, any of his predecessors, in recent memory. Although, having personally worked on numerous political campaigns, for over 4 decades, I recognize, most politicians, stretch the truth, and resort to spinning the facts, to put them, in the best, possible, light, Trump has taken that tendency, to previously, unobserved, heights! Political fact – checkers have stated, he has lied, or materially mis – stated information, an average of over 5 times, per day, since his election! With that in mind, this article will attempt to briefly examine, review and consider, 5 situations, where these lie. have created true losers.
1. Himself: Every time someone lies, and gets caught, either lying, or contradicting himself, he becomes a loser, because he. ends up, losing his personal credibility! Why should anyone believe anything, this man says, when he tells so many lies, constantly and consistently? Is he a congenital liar, a pathological one, or similar to, The boy who cried wolf ? The reality is, when something significant needs to be addressed, his constant use of stretching the truth, will make it challenging, to get many to believe anything he says and / or claims!
2. International: Rhetoric and vitriol, often, have significant ramifications, and when the President of the United States, which is considered, the most powerful individual, in the free world, makes heated claims, and either exaggerates, mis – states, and / or lies, he loses his credibility, around the world! In fact, numerous polls have indicated, the US is now held in the lowest esteem, throughout the world, it has ever been!
3. His core supporters / followers: Candidate, Trump claimed, I love the uneducated , apparently, in order, to inspire these individuals, to support his candidacy! He made many promises, for example, to factory workers, coal miners, etc, which, either, he knew, at the time, or should have, were, at the very least, exaggerations! These individuals have been hurt, because, they would have been better served, by retraining and relevant preparation, for the evolving world, and no one is served, when he claims to deny Climate Change, etc!
4. America's freedoms: Trump appears to get his facts from, what is often, referred to, as the Alt Right , or Far Right , and rather than, exploring realities and alternatives, has often made inflammatory statements, about many topics. His attempt to motivate certain fringe followers, by articulating vitriol, and using inflammatory statements, etc, has threatened, the very, freedoms, which have made America, great! For a man, whose slogan is, Make America Great Again, shouldn't we demand, a commitment to the truth?
5. Neediest Americans: Perhaps the biggest losers, in Trump's reliance on lying, are the neediest Americans! These individuals need leadership, which focuses on ways to improve their lives, rather than one, who claims to care, while constantly supporting laws and ideas, which are against their best interests, such as the recent tax reform, which favored corporations and the wealthiest , and health care reform, which would have taken away certain necessary protections. The constant attacks on minorities, immigrants, the Press, etc, have had their greatest, negative impact, on those, who can least afford it!
Trump states he wants to Make American Great Again, but, then, seems to demonstrate, his idea of greatness, is often based on lies, distortions, and enriching the wealthiest, often, at the expense of the rest of the nation. Wake up America, and show, you won't be swayed, by lies, etc!
